Bridgewater to Celebrate Local Media and Community at Town River Landing This October

BRIDGEWATER, MA – On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the banks of the Town River will transform into a hub of technology and community spirit for the 1st Annual Dick "The Unit" Fowler BTV Day. Taking place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Town River Landing, this landmark event is a centerpiece of the ongoing Town River Landing Initiative, highlighting the intersection of Bridgewater’s natural beauty and its vibrant local culture.

The event serves as a tribute to the vital role that BTV Access Corporation plays in the life of Bridgewater residents. For years, BTV has been the primary source for local government transparency, school sports coverage, and community storytelling. This celebration invites the public to step out of their living rooms and into the world of broadcast media.

A High-Tech Showcase on the Town River

The highlight of the afternoon will be the official showcase of BTV’s brand-new, state-of-the-art Television Truck. This mobile production suite represents a significant leap forward for the station, allowing for high-definition live or broadcasts from any corner of the town. Attendees will be invited to tour the truck and speak with the engineers and producers who use this technology to bring stories to life.

In addition to the truck, the event features "Hands-On Tech Stations" where aspiring filmmakers and curious neighbors can get behind the lens. From operating professional-grade cameras to learning the basics of digital switching and audio engineering, the day is designed to demystify the world of television production and inspire the next generation of local creators.

Celebrating the Town River Landing Initiative

By hosting the event at the Town River Landing, BTV is proud to support the Town River Landing Initiative, a project dedicated to revitalizing the waterfront and creating a premier gathering space for all residents.
