Fire For Effect Foundation Inc. (FFE) continues to grow its impact on veterans, first
responders, and their families by expanding the core group of volunteers and specialists known as the FireTeam Members. Building on the organization’s mission to “honor and empower veterans, first responders, and their families by providing essential resources, support, and community‑building initiatives,” the FireTeam has become the operational engine that turns that mission into day‑to‑day action.
While the Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, it is the expanding FireTeam that ensures programs are delivered efficiently, personally, and with the kind of flexibility that sets Fire For Effect apart from larger, more bureaucratic systems.
What Is the FireTeam?
The FireTeam is a group of dedicated professionals and volunteers who take on specific operational roles inside the foundation. Rather than operating as a loose collection of helpers, each FireTeam Member is assigned a clear area of responsibility, ensuring that requests from veterans and first responders are handled quickly and effectively.

Elias Bassila – Logistics
Elias is a Marine Corps veteran who helps move resources where they are needed most, drawing on his expertise as a general contractor. From planning and coordinating the setup of events to overseeing how materials and support are delivered to veterans and first responders, his real‑world construction and project management experience keeps everything running smoothly. As the organization grows, a dedicated logistics lead with hands‑on contractor experience ensures that every dollar and every donated item is put to work efficiently.

Dr. Richard Burke – Outreach
Outreach is vital for connecting with veterans, first responders, partner organizations, and the broader community. Dr. Richard Burke, a Bridgewater resident and medical doctor, focuses on building those relationships—whether it’s linking individuals to FFE programs or raising awareness of available support. His role helps ensure that the people who need help most actually hear about the foundation and feel comfortable reaching out.

Amanda Witkowski – Events
Events are where community and awareness all come together. Amanda coordinates activities that celebrate and support veterans and first responders—everything from local gatherings to larger community events. She also serves as a direct line of communication for vendors, partners, and others who support the mission at Fire For Effect, ensuring that everyone involved is connected, informed, and working toward the same goal.

Billy Lieb – Outreach
Working alongside Dr. Burke, Billy strengthens the outreach arm of the foundation. Having multiple team members focused on outreach allows Fire For Effect to maintain a personal, local touch while still expanding its reach. Billy draws from his experience as a Bridgewater Fire Fighter, Paramedic and Coast Guard veteran, helping FFE stay visible in the community and responsive to emerging needs.

Nancy Krushas – Events & Fundraising
Nancy’s dual role bridges the gap between event planning and the financial resources that keep programs running. By focusing on both Events & Fundraising, she ensures that each gathering not only builds community but also drives the support needed to sustain and expand services. Her involvement reflects the foundation’s belief that fundraising can be mission‑driven, personal, and community‑centered.
Why Expand Its FireTeam
The growth and formalization of the FireTeam reflect how Fire For Effect Foundation is evolving:
More Specialized Support Clearly defined roles—logistics, outreach, events, and fundraising—mean that veterans and first responders are served by people who know their area deeply and can respond quickly.
Stronger Community Presence With multiple outreach and events leads, FFE can show up in more places, partner with more organizations, and connect with more people who need help or want to get involved.
Efficient Use of Resources A dedicated logistics lead with contractor expertise and integrated Events/Fundraising roles ensure that donations, time, and volunteer effort are used where they will have the greatest impact.
Scalable Mission Delivery As demand for support grows, the expanded FireTeam makes it possible for the foundation to scale without losing the personal, “no red tape” approach that defines its identity.
Supporting the FireTeam’s Work
The expanded FireTeam gives Fire For Effect Foundation a stronger operational backbone, but their effectiveness ultimately depends on community support—donors, volunteers, and partners who share the mission of empowering veterans and first responders.
